Mrs. C was tall and lean and had a long, lean sofa to match! It was obvious to most of us that her prized sofa could not possibly have gotten up here in one piece, but she assured us, it had. Still, it was clear, that it wasn’t going to fit around those tight entry turns - or, per the mover, in the elevator or down the stairwell! It is in situations like this, that we call on the expertise of our cracker jack moving team to get us out of this jam!
We were assured that no chain saws would be needed on moving day, but we have to admit that we had our doubts! It took shrink-wrapping it in plastic wrap, standing the behemoth on end, twisting it round and round, and removing a storm door to a tiny balcony, to get it out of the apt. But the ground was still 30-feet below! These guys, using the skill of a surgeon, teetered the great piece over the railing, tethered it to a system of ropes and extension ladders and slid that prized possession to the ground. Only then did we allow Mrs. C onto the balcony!
We were thrilled and relieved to see her peeking over, grinning ear to ear. What goes up really must come down - and in this case, all in one piece!
