The Morning Call plugged into our company's moving expertise and interviewed Jill Kearney for an article titled Tips for a stress-free move: (Quote:) "If you are planning a move in the next year or so, it is never too early to start identifying those things that are most important to you, said Jill Kearney, founder and president of Senior Moves By Design in Allentown. Most people focus on “what to get rid of,” Kearney said. Her kindler/gentler approach is a little different: “Focus on what you really love. Then by default, everything else needs a new home,” she said." Click here to read the full article.

Proud to announce that The Community at Rockhill in Sellersville, PA is partnering with Senior Moves by Design! In November, Jill gave three presentations on "Decluttering for your Health and Happiness", which hit a nerve with the audience (don't we all have too much clutter?). As new residents move in, they will have the support of our professional Senior Move Managers and can feel at home at Rockhill from Day 1.
Teepa Snow, a super engaging speaker and leading trainer for Dementia care, was in the Lehigh Valley again to present her strategies of Positive Approach to Brain Change - this time with a focus on Alzheimer's! We're proud to have co-sponsored this free event on October 7, 2016 which included sessions for professionals as well as for family care givers.

This time we literally made the morning news program! On May 2, WFMZ aired a "spot-on" feature about Senior Moves by Design's services for seniors who are daunted by downsizing a life-time's worth of possessions prior to moving into a Senior Living Community. Our Founder and President Jill Kearney explains how we guide clients in selecting what to keep and design floorplans around their treasures. We are so grateful for Nancy Werteen, WFMZ's anchor and reporter for the Life Lessons series, who really understands the challenges seniors face and summed it up in a powerful TV-story featuring our wonderful client Nancy Orr as well as Mary Louise Drosdak from Luther Crest, Allentown.

Our founder Jill Kearney dedicates a big part of her energy to educate the public about Senior Move Management. Too many seniors and their families don't know such services exist and struggle through the move alone - or they resign to the status quo. In April 2016, Jill presented at senior seminar hosted by the YMCA's Indian Valley Branch in Harleysville, PA and at a luncheon organized by Country Meadows in Forks Township near Easton, PA. Here are some impressions from the Country Meadows event. Their new community will open in the Summer:
The annual conference of professionals in our line of business took place in beautiful San Antonio, Texas in late February. This event hosted by the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM) is a highlight of the year for continuing education and networking as we all build a broader public visibility of the Senior Move Management profession. This year Jill Kearney, Founder and President of Senior Moves By Design and NASMM Board Member, was invited to contribute a presentation on "Designing around Disabilities". She investigated the emerging concepts from ADA-compliance to Universal Design and shared key strategies that add not only safety, but also appealing design to the senior living space. These strategies go well beyond the proverbial grab bar in the bathroom: They include clear walkways, proper lighting techniques, accessible storage, overcoming steps and stairs, and safer bathrooms. Jill's presentation drew a large number of peers in the Senior Move Management profession who are committed to providing the highest level of service to their clients. Here are a couple of impressions from this year's conference:
Senior Moves By Design has been awarded the Circle of Service designation by the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM). The Circle of Service designation is bestowed on Senior Move Management companies that have been NASMM members, in good standing, for a minimum of five years, and have shown consistent dedication and support of the National Association of Senior Move Managers and the Senior Move Management profession.
“This special designation is awarded to Senior Move Management companies attaining an elevated level of experience and expertise,” said Mary Kay Buysse, NASMM’s Executive Director. “Senior Moves By Design has been instrumental in the development of the Senior Move Management industry and has worked to increase the professionalism, credibility, and visibility of this emerging senior service.”
Over 60 Senior Move Management companies from across the United States and Canada received the Circle of Service designation this year. The awards ceremony took place during the National Association of Senior Move Managers 2016 Annual Conference in San Antonio, TX in late February 2016.
We are proud to serve the communities we live in and very excited about our new badge of honor!
