The Jordans are a wonderful family full of love and support. Knowing how time-consuming and immense the project would be to get them moved to their new home at Kirkland Village, their children suggested they get help.
Senior Moves By Design began the project by sorting through their collected items to pick out the treasures they wanted to keep and what could be let go. It was a delicate process of respect, trust, and support in the decision-making process.
After two months of preparation, they were more than ready for their move date. This helped to relieve their uneasiness about the transition in a very timely appropriate and structured fashion. The whole family loved the process and the results speak for themselves.
Our team worked tirelessly for the large move. Leah Did a wonderful job as Interim Move Manager at Kirkland Village while Trisha finished clearing the old house. There were lots of smiles from the family and our team all day. That is truly a good measure of the day!
Since the completed move, our Liquidations Specialist Heidi has set up an online auction to dispose of any household property not moving with the family to their new home.
Senior Move Manager Trisha has continued to work with the family to create an organizing plan. This process will sort the things they love so they can be enjoyed and become more functional. These steps have simplified their lives so they can focus on their friends and family and enjoy their new home.
Nearing 90, Mr. D. or “Vic” as he likes to be called, knew he wanted to live in a place where he could maintain his independence while enjoying the luxury of prepared meals and regular housekeeping. He also chose to live in a community with residents close to his own age. Not wanting to burden his children, he contacted us to manage his move.
Laurie, his personal Senior Move Manager, and her team, helped him decide how his favorite belongings would fit best in his new apartment and even found homes for the things he chose not to take. His move team carefully packed everything up and unpacked it all in his new home – in one day!
By dinnertime, his Moravian Hall Square apartment looked like he had lived there for years. Mr. D. was thrilled and said, "You ladies are great, I could not have done it without you.”
